The John A. Hartford Foundation’s work with the Hartford Institute of Geriatric Nursing (HIGN) at NYU was highlighted in the recent GrantsWatch blog from Health Affairs along with the Foundation’s staff transitions.

HIGN, which is based at the NYU College of Nursing, focuses on developing an interprofessional workforce that can capably address issues of aging so that elders can have optimal health and a better quality of life. Its goal is to carry out care models that assure better outcomes, improved patient experiences, and cost effective care. The institute also advocates for better care of older adults and looks to shape policy regarding their care by partnering with major stakeholders.

The blog also mentioned Rani E. Snyder’s leading the Foundation as its new Program Director as of March 2016.
