Philanthropy New York Fund for 2025

Grant Summary

The John A. Hartford Foundation Board approved a $200,000 grant to the regional grantmaking association, Philanthropy New York (PNY). PNY is the principal professional community of approximately 280 private, corporate, family, and public grantmaking organizations based in the New York City region that together provide more than $7 billion each year to thousands of nonprofit organizations in New York and around the world. The organization is a strategic partner to the Foundation and promotes increased awareness of the need to improve health care for older people. This one-time grant will support a new PNY initiative—the Fund for 2025—which will enhance meeting facilities, improve communications and technological capacity, increase programming, deepen public policy engagement, and strengthen fiscal stability. Philanthropy New York created the Fund for 2025 in 2014 to meet the new long-term needs of the philanthropic community by providing educational programming and convenings that will undergird its work in addressing the complex issues of New York City, the nation, and international communities.
