Improving the Care of Older Adults

We are making care more age-friendly.

Every day, more than 10,000 people in this country turn 65 yet health care, social services and policies are often not aligned with what matters most to older adults and their families.

We fund grants that give clinicians, service providers and policy makers tools to improve care for all of us as we age.

Our Priority Areas

We improve the care of older adults by promoting and investing in:

Age-Friendly Health Systems

We help health systems adopt evidenced-based models of improved care that better collaborate with public health and social services to meet the needs of older adults.

Family Caregiving

Family caregivers are the backbone of care in the U.S. We advance innovative models, and policies and practical resources to support caregivers of older adults.

Serious Illness and End of Life

Serious illness and end of life care often fail to meet the goals and preferences of older adults. We promote palliative care and services that honor what matters most to older people and their families.
