Academic Geriatrics and Training
Our country needs more health care professionals to care for our aging society, and better training related specifically to the health and medical needs of older Americans. To meet these demands, Hartford funds programs that:
- expose students to geriatrics through summer research programs and dissertation support,
- create and disseminate aging-related curricula,
- provide faculty members with protected time to perform research,
- support scholars in medicine, nursing, social work and interdisciplinary care through fellowships, pilot grants and mentoring, and,
- enhance leadership skills through faculty development institutes and workshops
