The Interprofessional Education and Practice eBooks are now available on ITunes (for free)

The Interprofessional Education and Practice (IPEP) eBooks are now available on ITunes (for free). These eBooks are designed to provide clinicians with information regarding the care for older adults in interprofessional teams. There will be a total of six eBooks available focusing the Core Competencies for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice sponsored by the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC). These domains include: 1) Values/Ethics for Interprofessional Practice; 2) Roles/Responsibilities; 3) Interprofessional Communication; and 4) Teams and Teamwork. Ultimately, the goal of the collective eBooks is to increase the number of advanced practice nurses, medical residents, other physicians and care providers with gerontological competencies and interprofessional expertise to enhance person-oriented primary care to complex older adults with multiple chronic conditions.

The IPEP eBooks were built on the foundation of two programs: NYU3T: Teaching, Technology, and Teamwork and Geriatrics Interdisciplinary Team Training (GITT), which was funded by The John A Hartford Foundation in 1999. Along with these two programs, the eBooks were also supported through the funding of Division of Nursing, Bureaus of Health Professions, Health Resources and Services Administration, and the Department of Health and Human Services.
