NASW Launches Supervisory Leaders in Aging Program
The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is pleased to announce the launch of its Supervisory Leaders in Aging (SLA) initiative, with generous funding from the John A. Hartford Foundation.
The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is pleased to announce the launch of its Supervisory Leaders in Aging (SLA) initiative, with generous funding from the John A. Hartford Foundation. SLA is designed to improve the delivery of health care and social services to older adults by strengthening the supervision of staff providing direct social services. The program includes a five-day training and ongoing engagement in a growing chapter and national network of Supervisory Leaders in Aging.
SLA will be piloted in four NASW chapters in 2015–2016. The New York City Chapter training to be held October 8 through December 3, 2015 is full with a waiting list, but more trainings will occur in Florida, Illinois, and Maryland in spring 2016.
The first New York City SLA program is being held from October 8 through December 3, 2015. Each training session is a full day. The Florida SLA training will be held on March 3, 17 and 31; and April 14 and 28, 2016. The Maryland SLA training will be held on March 8 and 22; April 5 and 19; and May 3. 2016 dates for Illinois will be forthcoming.
