PHI Offering Health Care Workforce Development Collaboration for HRSA GWEP Projects

PHI (www.PHInational.org), a national organization providing a range of technical assistance, including workforce and curriculum development, would like to connect with other Hartford Foundation grantees applying to the 2015 Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program.

The Paraprofessional Healthcare Institute (PHI), a national organization providing a range of technical assistance, including workforce and curriculum development, would like to connect with other Hartford Foundation grantees applying to the 2015 Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program.

PHI is interested in serving as a collaborating partner for proposed projects that have a focus on community-based care. With offices in the Bronx, Washington, D.C., Michigan, and Illinois, PHI has a multi-decade history of strengthening direct-care workforce training, deployment, and supports, practices that can help to improve quality and efficiency across the spectrum of healthcare delivery.

A vital resource to both policymakers and providers, PHI provided extensive assistance to four of the six states that received multi-year federal grants under the Affordable Care Act’s PHCAST Program, developing core competencies, piloting training curricula, establishing certification programs, orienting instructors, and assisting with competency testing.

For a range of health care providers, PHI offers technical assistance in curriculum development, entry-level and incumbent training models, coaching support, communications, and problem-solving, and strengthening interdisciplinary and inter-professional collaboration.

These elements may be of value to GWEP projects focused on community-based care. If you are interested in exploring a possible collaboration with PHI, please contact Rachel Sommer at rsommer@phinational.org.
