Health Affairs Launches 'Aging & Health' Series Funded by Hartford Grant

With its January 2015 issue, Health Affairs - the nation’s leading health policy journal - has launched its Aging & Health series, sponsored by the John A. Hartford Foundation. The series of articles that will appear over the next year will present research, analysis, and commentary about key issues, best practices, and promising innovations in health care delivery and payment that focus on the older adult population. The goal is to inform policy makers and health system leader and help the nation learn from the rapid transformations and testing that are currently underway.

Authors in this issue include Hartford grantee Bruce Leff, who developed the Hospital at Home model, who with Christine Ritchie and others write about advancements in setting quality-of-care standards for home-based primary and palliative care.

The series was supported by the John A. Hartford Foundation with a two-year grant approved in 2013. Under the Policy and Communications portfolio, the grant will both advance best practices in geriatric care and position aging and health policy issues as central to the national health care dialogue.
